The letter writers slamming "The War Room" (article, Oct. 27) are missing the point. I’d bet that close to 100 percent of these airmen would prefer to be deployed to the region their unmanned aerial vehicles are flown in, but the Air Force decided otherwise.

Don’t discount the mental toll of having to "switch off" war mode every day and face family issues, problems and stresses just an hour or so later that you are all insulated from by distance. I’ll bet it’s harder than you think, and some of you are being downright unfair to their service by denigrating them for a decision made far above their pay grade as to where they operate.
