In response to "Incivility is OK in today’s society? You lie!" (Opinion, Kathleen Parker, Sept. 18): Interrupting the president’s speech in Congress deserves criticism. However I cannot help wondering why people look for civility all of a sudden?

Democrats in Congress got away with booing President George W. Bush without making a single apology. Reporters in the White House did not bother to stand up when Bush stepped into the room.

At least President Barack Obama could face his accuser and receive an apology, but who were these faceless, nameless Democrats booing Bush?

I think Democrats and rude reporters set the stage for the outburst from [South Carolina Republican] Rep. Joe Wilson.

People should not pick and choose when it comes to respecting the president of the United States.
