Knock it off! All of you!

I read the supporting and condemning letters to the editor on Nov. 5 referring to “The War Room” (article, Oct. 27), about drone pilots and their apparent plight while doing their job.

I cannot imagine it to be fun watching comrades die, whether you are actually there or in a supporting role somewhere else. It’s still happening, and I would imagine that feelings of guilt and helplessness, even though one is safely at home, can still be overwhelming.

Whether one deploys for 15 months or five, serves in a combat, combat support or combat service support military occupational specialty, we all do the job we signed up for and are trained to do.

While it is customary for the branches of service to poke fun at each other for perceived roles, to denigrate the services of any particular branch or MOS publicly while serving directly in or in support of a combat environment is malicious and does nothing but breed discontent.

So knock it off! All of you!
