I tried, but I cannot come up with any good reason why the U.S. is the only industrialized nation that does not have national health care for all its citizens.
I heard all the arguments for not having health care, but they do not make any sense to me. The cost will be high — we know that; the cost is high now and getting higher every year.
We will have to wait in line for health care. So what? Is that a reason to keep millions of fellow Americans from having health care?
We will have to pay for illegal immigrants; we do that already.
We elected Barack Obama and gave him a majority in both houses to pass health care reform. I only need them to do two things: Pass health care reform and get the troops out of Iraq.
They may have to force health care down the American throat like bad-tasting medicine; it tastes bad going down, but in a while you start to feel a lot better.
And for the soldiers out there who are anti-government, look in the mirror — you are the government.
