Over the last month or two, Star and Stripes has had several features that have discussed the various plans for the possible repeal of "don’t ask, don’t tell." Simultaneously, you have run many, many editorial responses in your letters to the editor section.

I want to commend Stars and Stripes for the fairness of your coverage. You have posted responses and letters that have explored virtually every aspect of this hot topic, regardless of the viewpoint and its apparent validity. In doing so, you have allowed me to explore and question my own views and develop an informed, supportable position.

In my opinion, your fair, unbiased coverage is rare in the news media these days, and I wanted to take a minute to both thank you and commend you. Keep up the excellent work!
