This is in regard to “Search the Bible, not Google” (letter, Sept. 14). Is the writer serious? When is the last time he stoned someone to death for shaving? How about offing someone because they ate shellfish, which the Bible clearly states is an abomination.

It always gives me a good laugh when people use the Bible to show how homosexuality is against God and yet omit the very same area [of Scripture] that claims outrageous things are also evil.

The world would be a much better place if those who follow the Abraham faiths would actually read their Scriptures with a grain of common sense instead of interpreting what they feel would best suit their opinions.

My favorite piece of the book in question will always be “Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.” Seems some of those followers would do well to listen to him.
