I wasn’t going to comment on "Flight suit was best for wings" (letter, Oct. 6), written by the aviation lieutenant in reference to his uniform and wings, but after reading the supporting letter, "It’s pride, not arrogance," (letter, Oct. 14), which was written by a chief warrant officer 2, I just have to say, holy cow! Are all aviators so arrogant? Aviators not only soar above us all in their aircraft but also in their minds, it seems.

All I can say is, get over yourselves already. There are plenty of soldiers out here who are just as intelligent and dedicated as they are, but chose different career paths for their own reasons. I have no problem with taking pride in what aviators have earned and wishing to display it, but they need to come down to Earth and join their "brothers and sisters on the ground."
