Attacking freedom of speech
Congratulations to the writer of "Thanks for dropping Coulter" (letter, Sept. 3) and the liberals: You won; her column has been removed. Now please move on.
I know it is ingrained in you to dwell on the past, i.e., blame President George W. Bush for all our problems, but it has been long enough for you to find a new freedom of speech to attack. I would suggest the Internet, but that is obviously in the works already.
I give you my sympathy for having to spend so much energy on having to skip a single column in a paper with 32 pages in it. I would also like to apologize for the "right-wing stranglehold that the Republicans have on our military." Sorry we re-enlist.
The letter has everything a good liberal rant needs. The writer claims to be independent, but isn’t. He has his right-wing conspiracy of our "control of the media" and can control the TV shows’ placement. We don’t. I wish that were the case; I have to choke down my food with Keith Olbermann on in the chow hall. Please let me know where the Fox News chow hall is, because I would like to eat there.
The letter even [mentioned] "racist" in it. Congrats — way to use people’s suffering and a dark period of our past to try to make a point.
The letter ends with pity for people who do not believe as the writer does and praise for the suppression of free speech.
I have always found it interesting that liberals believe in free speech as long as you agree with them, but if you disagree, they will move heaven and hell to shut you up.
