Nobody knows better than Stars and Stripes what you go through downrange. Except you. So we want your help in telling your story. E-mail us your digital photos, depicting what life is like wherever you are, whether on the FOB or on a mission somewhere in the wild. It’s “Your View” of your role in the wars, whether Iraq, Afghanistan or somewhere else. Candid (not posed) shots are best, and please include your name, unit, location and a short caption explaining the picture and your thoughts when you took the shot. Selected photos will be used in the paper and here at stripes.com. E-mail your photos to: view@mail.estripes.osd.mil.

Submitted by Chaplain (Capt.) Luis Silva, 3rd Army, Kuwait. I took this along the road to Camp Buehring, Kuwait. I thought, even in the desert, we are not alone. I thought, God is real presented in Creation.

Submitted by Spc. Harry L. Rasmussen III, 322nd Maintenance Co., LSA Anaconda, Iraq. Well, don’t you hate that Humvees only have four seats, but you have six in a group? Here was our solution...why not customized a six-seater Humvee? This is one way we used to boost our morale in a combat environment.

Submitted by Maj. Mark E. Grant, Camp Echo, Iraq. Our unit is Distribution Management Team 5, which is part of 3D COSCOM deployed out of Wiesbaden, Germany. Life here is normally pretty quiet but we are at war and my photos are not happy ones. This is an ambulance that was hit by an IED. This attack cost one El Salvadorian soldier his life and some family a lifetime of sorrow. Even now, war is still ugly.

Submitted by Jim King, AAFES Loss Prevention, Iraq and Afghanistan. 1st Lt. Dan Elder and Senior Airman Suzanne VanElk act as ground guides as their C-17 backs up prior to departure from Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan.
