Nobody knows better than Stars and Stripes what you go through downrange. Except you. So we want your help in telling your story. E-mail us your digital photos, depicting what life is like wherever you are, whether on the FOB or on a mission somewhere in the wild. It’s “Your View” of your role in the wars, whether Iraq, Afghanistan or somewhere else. Candid (not posed) shots are best, and please include your name, unit, location and a short caption explaining the picture and your thoughts when you took the shot. Selected photos will be used in the paper and here at E-mail your photos to:

Submitted by Staff Sgt. Alton Jefferson II, Jalalabad, Afghanistan. This is a picture of Sgt. Jeremy R. Squires, a unmanned aerial vehicle maintainer from Special Troops Battalion, launching a Shadow UAV at Forward Operating Base Fenty, Afghanistan.

Submitted by Staff Sgt. Dorian Jones, 230th Military Police Company, Forward Operating Base Kalsu, Iraq. While on a walking patrol, Pfc. Jeffrey Appleby interacts with two children in the town of Haswah.

Submitted by Navy Lt. Tim Schul, 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion, Camp Taji, Iraq. I took this picture while on an assessment of the Kadasiya School in eastern Anbar province. Assessment team member Capt. A. “Marty” Martinez, 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, was walking along when this child popped up and gave me a thumbs up! I wondered if he was wishing he was in school or wishing he was a soldier.
