SEOUL — Commiskey’s Restaurant, a fixture in the Yongsan Garrison community since the early 1990s, will close its doors Sept. 30, according to 8th Army officials.

The restaurant was unable to compete with new businesses in the community and the garrison is now looking for ideas on how best to use the building, according to garrison commander Col. Dave Hall.

Surrounding facilities will not be affected by the closure, and the restaurant’s employees will become part of the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation work force, garrison officials said in a news release.
