Yongsan limits base youth access to its shuttle buses
YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea — Base youth will be denied access to certain shuttle buses beginning Thursday, according to Area II officials.
“High school and middle school students have been overrunning the Moyer to Hannam Village shuttle bus,” Area II Transportation Officer Kelii Bright said in an Area II news release. “This has caused official passengers to be denied service.”
The students — who with all other family members fall under space-available status on the shuttle buses — won’t be allowed to ride the 3 p.m. or 4:15 p.m. buses from the Moyer bus terminal to Hannam Village, according to the release.
Officials said students should ride the 2:50 p.m. school bus.
Students at every stop along the route will be denied bus passage except for the last stop at the entrance to Supply Point #51, near Building 5422.
“Students can board at that final pick-up point on a space-available basis,” Bright stated in the release.
Area II commander Col. Ron Stephens was quoted in the release as saying he wants parents to emphasize that students should use the school buses.
