Yongsan bus stop to move during resurfacing project
YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea — The drop-off and pick-up point for Yongsan’s bus station will be relocated for about 10 days beginning Saturday as the parking lot is resurfaced, according to Area II officials.
Passengers will enter and exit buses in the lot east of the finance building and directly in front of the post library entrance.
The lot to be resurfaced is in front of the Moyer Community Service Center.
The road between the community center and the finance building also will be closed by 8 p.m. Friday.
All traffic to the Gallery concession mall, library, community center, bowling alley and main post club must enter the parking lot from I Corps Boulevard, across from the Main Street food court.
Lt. Col. Paul L. Legere, in charge of Area II Directorate of Public Works, said there will be no change in bus schedules.
“However, the number of buses actually parking there will be kept to a minimum due to space and safety considerations,” he stated in an Area II news release.
Bus tickets still are available at the ticket counter in the community center, officials said.
Area II Director of Community Recreation Manager Mario Farrulla said sidewalk access to the community center will remain open.
The resurfaced lot is to house four additional buses and have improved lighting, new bus schedule displays and improved drainage.
