YOKOSUKA NAVAL BASE, Japan — U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka will host a bone-marrow donor registration drive and health fair April 16 in front of the base commissary.

The health fair will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the registration drive will last from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The bone-marrow donor registration process includes a swab of the cheek and no needles, according to a hospital news release. Registrants may then enter a Defense Department database that matches suitable donors and recipients.

About 30 medical professionals will be on hand at the fair to answer medical questions. Tricare representatives will answer insurance and benefits questions.
