WIESBADEN, Germany — Representatives from more than two dozen organizations are expected to spend part of their St. Patrick’s Day at the 2006 Spring Job Fair in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Like other U.S. military communities in the theater, the Army Community Service office in Wiesbaden holds one or two job fairs every year, said Wiesbaden employment readiness program manager Kim Taylor.

Giessen, for example, in conjunction with the Friedberg military community, is organizing a job fair for March 31. From Hanau to Stuttgart, plans for other employment fairs are in the works.

“Typically, we all try to get one in in the spring and fall,” Taylor said.

Some job fairs in the past have included General Dynamics or Kellogg Brown & Root. At Friday’s event in Wiesbaden, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the emphasis will be on employment opportunities with government entities, such as the Defense Logistics Agency, the American Consulate in Frankfurt and the Defense Commissary Agency.

Taylor said community officials will also be answering questions about education opportunities and volunteerism. Representatives from the Dexheim will also take part, since that community falls under Wiesbaden.

For more information on the Wiesbaden job fair, contact the employment readiness program office at 0611-4080-234. In other communities, contact the local ACS office for information on upcoming job fairs.
