BAMBERG, Germany — U.S. Army Europe is providing servicemembers and civilian employees a chance to spend a week in Hamburg learning about European and German history, economics, politics and social issues.
The Haus Rissen seminars at the International Institute for Economics and Politics will be hosting speakers in several fields to educate German and American military personnel on geopolitical issues, a USAREUR press release states.
Sign-up deadlines for noncommissioned officers are: Feb. 23 for the March 7-11 seminar, March 28 for May 9-13 and May 23 for June 6-10. Deadlines for officers are: Feb. 28 for the March 28-April seminar, April 28 for May 16-20 and June 13 for June 27-July 1.
Costs for the seminars, lodging and meals will be funded by USAREUR Public Affairs. The sending organization must cut orders and fund travel and per diem. Personnel who wish to attend must have at least one year of service left in USAREUR to be eligible. Spouses can attend at their own expense.
