A math teacher at Vicenza High School in Italy died Thursday from head and back injuries sustained in an accidental fall, according to information from the school system.

Darcy Anderson, 54, had spent six years working for the Department of Defense Dependents Schools, including three years at Vicenza, beginning in 2002, and three years, from 1990 to 1993, at RAF Croughton, England. She spent 24 years in the teaching profession.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the base chapel on Caserma Ederle in Vicenza.

Survivors include a son, Phillip Rinaldo of Kaiserslautern, Germany; a daughter, Sarah Anderson of Vicenza; a sister, Debbie Pedrick; and a brother. The brother’s name and sister’s hometown were not provided.
