ATLANTA (Tribune News Service) — After taking a man into custody late last month in connection with the vandalism of statues at the Walk of Heroes Veterans War Memorial in Rockdale County, authorities have made two more arrests.

Bryan Sears and Keshia Martin Black were booked on theft and criminal trespass charges, according to jail records. They are accused of removing part of the memorial that had five bronze soldiers each representing a branch of the military in mid-December.

Black, 42, of Newnan, was taken into custody Jan. 3, according to Rockdale jail records. Sears, 25, of Rockdale County, was taken into custody Monday morning.

That follows the earlier arrest of Wendell Tolbert, 51, of Taylorsville. He was booked Dec. 29 on theft and criminal trespass charges, jail records show.

There is still a warrant out for one more person in the incident, Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levett said.

He had this message for the person still on the loose:

“This was a terrible crime. This was disrespectful to many men and women who sacrifice their lives each and every day and have sacrificed their lives in the past for our country.

“We’re not going to tolerate this in Rockdale County. We’re coming after you, and we will find you.”
