ARLINGTON, Va. — Volunteers are being sought to help remove about 112,000 wreaths from Arlington National Cemetery gravesites this Saturday, Jan. 26, regardless of the weather.

The wreaths were placed during last month's annual Wreaths Across America event.

The cemetery's Welcome Center will open to volunteers at 7 a.m., with the cemetery opening at 8:00 and a procedural briefing at 8:45 at the Memorial Amphitheater. Limited free (until 1 p.m.) parking will be available at the Welcome Center parking lot, but the use of Metro is encouraged. No advance registration is required.

Participants should wear warm clothing and comfortable shoes, and bring a device like a broom handle, rake or rope with a board tied to one end to help carry multiple wreaths. Volunteers should expect to stay until about 1 p.m.

More details can be found at the Wreaths Across America website.
