One man dead, another injured in incident at Camp Lejeune residence

(Tribune News Service) — One man was shot to death and another is seriously injured following an incident early Saturday morning at an on-base resident, base officials said.

Patrol officers with Camp Lejeune's Provost Marshal's Office responded to a 911 call at the residence at approximately 4 a.m. and found a man who had died from an apparent gunshot wound and another man who was seriously injured with multiple stab wound, according to a news release issued by Camp Lejeune.

The stabbing victim was transported to Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune.

The name of the deceased will be released 24 hours after notification of next of kin.

No further details are available at this time.

The incident is being investigated by Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
