WASHINGTON, D.C. — Thousands of spectators lined Washington's Constitution Avenue on Monday for the National Memorial Day Parade, which focused on the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

It was also the 10th anniversary of the revival of the annual event after an absence of many years.

Dozens of World War II veterans served as grand marshals of the parade, riding in vintage cars.

The Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan and Jeff Schroeder performed two songs, to the delight of the crowd.
