A Marine stationed at the Pentagon tested positive for the coronavirus this week, defense officials announced Thursday.
The Marine, who was last at the Pentagon March 13, isolated himself when a family member showed symptoms of the virus, the Department of Defense said in a statement. He tested positive for the virus on Tuesday.
His workspace has been cleaned and a contact investigation is underway, the statement said.
On Wednesday, Defense Secretary Mark Esper increased health protection measures at all defense installations as the military continues to report dozens of new cases of the coronavirus.
