NEW YORK (Tribune News Service) — Before he can ship out, he needed to get a shape up.

Reynaldo Arroyo, 23, received his first haircut in 15 years when he enlisted in the Army, according to a Facebook video from the Salt Lake City Army Recruiting Battalion.

Arroyo, who enlisted in Missoula, Montana, as an infantryman, said he was donating his hair to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that makes wigs for children with illnesses that cause hair loss.

“Hopefully some little girl’s gonna get it,” he said.
