MIDWEST CITY, Okla. — Families of wounded warriors and junior enlisted military personnel can register now to receive free backpacks and back-to-school supplies for their children from the Operation Homefront Back-to-School Brigade.

Registration for events across the country is online at www.operationhomefront.org/event/list.

Hundreds of backpacks and accompanying school supplies will be distributed to families that register.

Shoppers can purchase and donate school supplies at any Dollar Tree store from July 5 through Aug. 10. This is the ninth year that Dollar Tree has partnered with Operation Homefront to provide school supplies to military children. Last year, Dollar Tree patrons donated more than $4.5 million of supplies nationally.

The Back-to-School Brigade takes place during Operation Homefront's 1Mil1Fam campaign through July. The national nonprofit provides programs and services that help military families feel more connected to people and businesses in their community.

Americans who want to show support for military families can learn more at OperationHomefront.org/1Mil1Fam, and join in online with the hashtag #1Mil1Fam.
