Members of the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team cased their colors during a ceremony Friday at Fort Stewart, Ga., ahead of their deployment to Afghanistan.

According to the unit's official Facebook page, those who have yet to deploy will remain in the States for the Christmas holiday before deploying.

The unit's Train, Advice and Assist mission is slated to last nine months in various locations in Afghanistan.
