Fort Bragg soldier charged with rape

(Tribune News Service) — A Fort Bragg soldier is accused of raping a woman in November, according to arrest warrants in the Cumberland County Magistrate's Office.
Spc. Eduardo Deaguiar Silva, 31, was charged Friday with two counts of first-degree kidnapping and one count each of first-degree forcible rape and misdemeanor assault on a female.
Silva, who is assigned to the U.S. Army JFK Special Warfare Center and School, is accused of punching the woman in the face and legs with a closed fist and kicking her in the rib cage, warrants said.
Bail was set at $510,000.
