EL PASO, Texas (Tribune News Service) — The woman allegedly killed by a Fort Bliss soldier in a stabbing was identified Wednesday as 25-year-old Byuri Park.
Park and two Fort Bliss soldiers allegedly were stabbed by Army Spc. Torian A. Davis at about 12:25 a.m. Dec. 22 at The Bungalows apartment complex in the North Hills neighborhood of Northeast El Paso.
El Paso Police Department officials said that Davis, Park and Spc. Anthony Velasco, 21, were inside an apartment drinking alcoholic beverages and using drugs when Davis slashed Velasco’s throat in an unprovoked attack and then began stabbing Park.
Davis then left the apartment and “randomly pummeled” 1st Lt. Jared Abes, who had just parked his car in a parking lot, officials alleged.
Park, Velasco and Abes were taken to University Medical Center of El Paso, where Park later died, officials said.
Abes, 23, was hospitalized in the intensive care unit; Abes' current condition was not released. Velasco was treated and released, officials said Monday.
Davis also was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Abes' current condition was not released.
He was released Dec. 26 and arrested by police.
Davis was arrested on suspicion of murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury,
