Two people were found dead late Monday night after a shooting at Naval Station Norfolk, base officials say.

U.S. Navy security forces responded to the incident, which happened at about 11:20 p.m. EST at Pier 1. The security forces killed a suspect, the Navy said.

No other injuries were reported.

The two killed were a male sailor and male civilian, base officials said on their Facebook page. It added that no one was taken into custody nor being sought.

The base was briefly put on lockdown, but it has since been lifted.

An investigation is underway. No other details have been released.
