Military Child Month discount for Universal Studios Japan tour. The trip to the movie theme park goes from 5 a.m. April 21 to 2:30 a.m. April 22. Cost is $59 for adults, $46 for ages 4 to 11, and $30 for ages 3 and younger. A discount of $15 per child will be honored when an adult signs up; limit two discounts per family. Deana’s Fund, a Massachusetts-based non-profit that promotes awareness about preventing violence, will perform several plays for different age groups.

Misawa Air Basen For National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Family Advocacy is conducting a campaign called “1000 Promises for Kids” to promote the active role that adults have in the lives of children. The campaign also will raise awareness regarding child maltreatment in the community.
The agency also is sponsoring the “Most Awesome Parent Contest” from April 16-30.

During National Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April the base’s sexual assault response coordinator (SARC), Capt. Angela Batts, will have a booth set up at the base exchange with information available on sexual assault awareness, prevention and reporting. Dates to be announced. Batts is also currently running sexual assault prevention and awareness spots on American Forces Network television and radio that includes contact information. Contact Batts at DSN 226-7271.The Lunney Youth Center is hosting a scavenger hunt for the Boys and Girls Club of America from April 9 to 13. Call the youth center at DSN 226-4669 for details.As part of Alcohol Awareness Month, the 35th Medical Group will visit airmen in the dorms to provide them with information and resources to promote awareness.Additionally, several airmen in the dorms will be randomly selected to participate in a contest in which they will view an alcohol-related video.
Participants in the contest will be entered into a drawing to win a gift certificate.
The Drug Demand Reduction Program will be providing a five-hour prevention program at the Cheli School Age Program, in Building 412, April 9 through April 12, and at the Lunney Youth Center from April 6 to 11.Each day will focus on a different topic.
In addition, each child will have a “homework assignment” to take home and discuss with their parents to emphasize the lesson for the day.
