YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — The University of Maryland University College Asia is offering two scholarships for the upcoming spring semester.
The Orkland Family Military Scholarship Fund is a $1,000-per-semester scholarship for active-duty military spouses that goes toward the cost of tuition. To be eligible, undergraduate students must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA at UMUC. Graduate students must maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Students eligible for the scholarship must also be enrolled in a minimum of six or more credit hours for the semester and also demonstrate a financial need, according to a news release.
The Barbara Golden Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship for tuition and books for active-duty servicemembers and family members enrolled in an at least one Asian Studies course on Okinawa. Recipients of the award must maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA and also demonstrate a financial need.
