Calling all movie buffs.

The 28th Cambridge Film Festival starts Thursday and will feature dozens of films in a variety of venues around the city — from punts along the River Cam to the local planetarium. Offering up art films, documentaries and classics such as "2001: A Space Odyssey," the event is dedicated to "provocative" cinema and is billed as one of the United Kingdom’s largest film festivals outside London and Glasgow.

The festival runs through Sept. 28.
