U.S. airstrikes destroy two suspected bomb factories
American airstrikes in the town of Arab Jabour destroyed two buildings suspected of being used as bomb factories, officials said Tuesday.
According to a U.S. military news release, ground troops searched the two buildings and found large amounts of chemicals and bomb-making materials.
“Coalition Forces called in for air support to destroy the buildings to prevent the material from being used against Iraqi citizens, Iraqi military and Coalition Forces in the future,” the news release read.
According to the news release, “a careful analysis was conducted prior to the strike” to prevent collateral damage in the immediate area. No injuries were reported after the bombing.
Arab Jabour is just southeast of Baghdad.
