CAMBRIDGESHIRE — A 21-year-old Huntingdon man was hospitalized with serious injuries last week when two trucks and a Volkswagen Golf collided on the A14, according to a news release from the Cambridgeshire Constabulary.

The driver of the Golf and one of the truck drivers also suffered minor injuries in the collision. The driver of the second truck was unhurt, according to the release. It was unclear what vehicle the Huntingdon man was in.

Police are looking for witnesses to the accident, which occurred about 10 p.m. Wednesday in the westbound lane of the A14 near the Spittals roundabout exit. Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Neots police station at 0845 456 4564.

Diesel fuel spills into river after vandalismHAVERHILL — About 4,500 liters of diesel fuel spilled from a storage tank on Phoenix Road in Haverhill when vandals broke a pipe on the container, a report from the Suffolk County Constabulary stated.

The incident happened sometime between April 4 and April 10.

Much of the gas poured into a nearby reservoir designed to handle spills and was collected by local environmental workers, but about 1,000 liters made it into a nearby river, the release stated.

Police are looking for witnesses to the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Haverhill police at 01284 774100 or Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.

Post box set on fire in MildenhallMILDENHALL — A post box was set ablaze by vandals on Comet Way in Mildenhall sometime between April 7 and April 10, damaging five letters inside, according to a Suffolk County Constabulary report.

Police are looking for information on the crime and are asking witnesses to contact Mildenhall constable Peter Maxfield at 01284 774100.

Car’s roof, hood and windshield damagedMILDENHALL — Vandals on Field Road smashed the windshield of a red Ford Mondeo last week and dented the roof and hood by jumping on the car, a Suffolk County Constabulary report stated.

The incident took place either Thursday or Friday.

Group of youths accost teen, friendBICESTER — Police are looking for witnesses after a 17-year-old boy and his friend were accosted last week by a large group of youths who demanded their money, according to a Thames Valley Police report.

The incident took place about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday on George Street in Bicester, near RAF Croughton. A group of eight to 10 youths, all wearing hooded sweat shirts or scarves around their faces, approached the two boys. One member of the group grabbed the 17-year-old by the throat and demanded cash, but the two were able to break free and run away, according to the report.
