ST. NEOTS — Police are searching for information on two vehicle thefts here and in Eynesbury, according a Cambridgeshire Constabulary news release.

A black Volkswagen Golf GTI was stolen from Montagu Street in Eynesbury between 7:30 p.m. on May 9 and 8 a.m. the next day.

The registration number of the Volkswagen is H550 FAV, the release stated.

Sometime between 5:30 p.m. on May 19 through 8:30 a.m. on May 22, a purple Mitsubishi Shogun was stolen from a carpark on Berkley Street, close to the One Stop shop. The Mitsubishi is reported to have damage to its front end.

Car damaged by bricks thrown through windowsHUNTINGDON — Authorities are appealing for witnesses after two bricks were thrown through the windows of a white Peugeot 205.

The incident occurred between 5:30 p.m. on May 15 and 8 a.m. the next morning, according to a Cambridgeshire Constabulary news release.

Man approaches girls playing, accosts oneMILDENHALL — Officers are appealing for information after a man approached a group of children playing in a wooded area on Selwyn Close at approximately 4 p.m. on May 18.

While playing hide-and-seek with two friends, a 12-year-old girl saw a man come out from behind some trees and run toward her as she counted alone. She immediately ran in to the open. The man did not follow her, according to a Suffolk Constabulary news release.

As she told her friends what had happened, one of the other girls, also 12 years old, said that she, too, saw a male in the woods who kept staring at her.

The girls decided to resume their game, and as the third girl, an 11-year-old, stood alone counting she felt someone grab her upper arms from behind. She screamed loudly, at which the man released his grip and the girl ran off, the release stated.

The man is described as dark-skinned, wearing a navy hooded jumper with the hood pulled over his face and black trousers.

Police responding to call find dead man in carBURY ST. EDMUNDS — Police officers were called to an Attlebridge address on the afternoon of May 24 after a body was reported there, according to a Norfolk Constabulary news release.

Based on information they received, officers began to search for the driver of a green Montego.

At 3:57 p.m., police officers from the Suffolk Constabulary spotted and pulled over the vehicle along the A11 Highway. A man was found dead in the trunk.

The driver, a 53-year-old male from Attlebridge, was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to the Bury St. Edmunds police station.

The dead man’s identity was not released.
