U.K. Crime Scene: Garbage bin set on fire on doorstep damages home
MILDENHALL — Suffolk authorities are investigating an incident of arson that occurred in the village outside the U.S. Air Force base RAF Mildenhall.
Someone set fire to a plastic garbage bin and placed it on the front door of a home on St. John’s Close between 8 and 9 p.m. on Dec. 5, according to a Suffolk Constabulary news release.
The fire spread to the home and caused damage to the front of the home, but the occupant was able to escape unharmed, authorities said.

12 arrested in drug raidsELY — Cambridgeshire authorities arrested 12 people in connection with a drug ring in the country.
The arrests occurred Dec. 12 as more than 150 officers conducted raids on 10 homes in Ely, Littleport and Soham, according to a Cambridgeshire Constabulary news release.
Authorities said the raids were connected to an ongoing campaign targeting crack-cocaine and heroin and were the culmination of 10 weeks of intelligence gathering and investigations conducted by officers in Cambridgeshire.
