Two general officers based in Europe will be heading to new assignments, according to a Department of Defense announcement released Monday.
Army Brig. Gen. Ralph O. Baker, deputy commander (maneuvers) for the Wiesbaden, Germany-based 1st Armored Division and deputy commanding general-east, U.S. Division-Center in Iraq, will assume the position of director for operational plans and joint force development at the Joint Staff for the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Washington, D.C.
Army Brig. Gen. Christopher K. Haas, commander of Special Operations Command Africa at U.S. Africa Command in Stuttgart, Germany, will take command of the Combined Forces Special Operations Component Command Forward in Afghanistan.
