Two Air Force fighter wings at Osan rated ‘excellent’ in readiness
OSAN AIR BASE, South Korea — The two U.S. Air Force fighter wings in South Korea received “excellent” ratings in a recent biennial readiness inspection.
The operational readiness inspection, or ORI, measures a unit’s ability to carry out its wartime mission.
The Pacific Air Forces Inspector General gave the rating to the 51st Fighter Wing at Osan Air Base and the 8th Fighter Wing at Kunsan Air Base, according to an Air Force news release.
In addition, a “very strong satisfactory” was given to Osan’s 621st Air Control Squadron and an overall “excellent” went to the Osan-based Detachment 1 of the 33rd Rescue Squadron.
