TOKYO — The Air Force entertainment troupe Tops in Blue is making its annual visit to the Pacific.

Known as the Air Force’s Expeditionary Entertainers, Tops in Blue is an amateur all active-duty U.S. Air Force special unit comprising 35 vocalists, musicians and dancers, selected for their entertainment abilities from base talent contests worldwide.

The 2003 tour theme is “Soaring with Eagles,” which pays tribute to 100 years of flight and 50 years of Tops in Blue.

“This year is indeed a milestone in the history of the program and the history of the Air Force,” Air Force Entertainment Director Tom Edwards said. “We plan to celebrate with our fans by performing some of our all-time favorite songs.”

The show will feature tunes by the Supremes, Tina Turner and the Village People. Tops in Blue also will perform hits from Gloria Estefan, MC Hammer, Ricky Martin and others.

During each show, Tops in Blue will award 1,000 call-minutes and a $200 Army and Air Force Exchange Service gift certificate to two lucky audience members at each show.

The call-minutes are being offered by AT&T Corp., a Tops in Blue sponsor.
