SEMBACH, Germany — Tops in Blue, the Air Force’s song-and-dance troupe, will perform dozens of times in Europe starting in September.

The group, which is based at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, is in Europe now performing in Turkey. The current European tour started at Lajes Field in the Azores on Saturday, then went to Morón, Spain, and ends Sunday in Ankara, Turkey.

According to the latest posting on the group’s Web site, Tops in Blue will spend time in the Central Command’s area of responsibility following the Ankara performance. Because of force protection issues, locations and times for those shows are not announced.

After a few weeks in the States, the group returns to Europe for dates in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Italy and Iceland.

This year’s tour, consisting of 150 shows at 130 locations in the States and abroad, is titled “Musicology.” Songs from artists including the Brian Setzer Orchestra, Chaka Kahn, the Commodores, Madonna, Ray Charles, Martina McBride, Celine Dion and the Blues Brothers will be performed.

Dozens of airmen make up the troupe, including one member this year stationed in Europe: 2nd Lt. Laura Richmond from Ramstein Air Base, Germany. The shows are free to the public.

Scheduled performances in Europe include:
