Tiki brand Beachcomber Bamboo Torches with metal flame guards are being recalled by the manufacturer because of the potential of fire damage or injury, according to an Army and Air Force Exchange Service news release.

AAFES sold only model number 1037 at exchange stores in Europe.

The flame guards on some torches have a surface coating, which under some conditions can absorb torch fuel and ignite from the lighted wick, possibly setting the torch on fire, the release stated.

Flame guards should be inspected for visible tabs on top. If tabs are missing, consumers are instructed not to use the torch and to contact Lamplight Farms to receive replacement parts at no charge.
