CAMP RED CLOUD, South Korea — Officials from the 2nd Infantry Division Staff Judge Advocate office have released partial details on three courts-martial.

On Tuesday, a sergeant in Company B, 302nd Forward Support Battalion, was convicted of rape, indecent assault and adultery, officials said. According to information provided by the judge advocate, the married male entered the barracks room of a subordinate and sexually assaulted her while she was asleep. He was reduced in rank to E-1 and given a five-year prison term and bad-conduct discharge.

On Nov. 20, a specialist in Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion 506th Infantry, was found guilty of violating a lawful general order, disobeying a superior commissioned officer, being absent without leave for 13 days to avoid a field exercise and fleeing apprehension. He was picked up in an Itaewon bar by military police. The soldier was reduced to E-1, confined for six months and ordered to forfeit $700 per month for six months.

On Nov. 19, a staff sergeant assigned to Company C, 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, was convicted of forcible sodomy, indecent assault and indecent acts. In separate incidents, according to the judge advocate, the soldier sexually assaulted four other soldiers from his squad while they slept. The individual was reduced to E-1, ordered to forfeit all pay and allowances, sentenced to 20 years confinement and given a dishonorable discharge.
