BÖBLINGEN, Germany — Lt. Col. Francis Beaudette on Thursday took over command of 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group.

Beaudette succeeded Lt. Col. Scott Eaddy, who is retiring from the Army.

The ceremony took place at Panzer Kaserne in the Stuttgart, Germany, suburb of Böblingen, where the battalion is headquartered.

Beaudette will be commanding four companies as well as the battalion staff.

Beaudette was formerly with the deputy directorate for special operations on the Joint Staff.

Before that, he was a battalion executive officer and group operations officer with 10th SFG.

He attended the Citadel and was an armor platoon leader and intelligence officer before attending the Special Forces Qualification Course, and had been assigned to 3rd SFG earlier in his career.
