VIETNAM: MY EXPERIENCE

Peggy Lato - Civilian

The damage to my husband, who is deceased now. His suffering, and mine, began in 1970 when he came home from Vietnam. The VA would not and still do not acknowledge that he suffered from PTS. I slept with the man, I listened to his dreaming and nightmares. The VA did not. His depression was terrible and scary at times. He died in October 2014 of pulmonary fibrosis and pneumonia probably caused by Agent Orange. He told us all how they would spray and it would fall on them. We were married for 49 years and 4 months. This year, 2015, would have been our 50th wedding anniversary. I miss him terribly.
