Quantcast

Chris Daley - Navy

Many memories stateside in high school and Navy boot camp 1967-1968. After Tonkin Resolution, Pleiku, Khe Sanh and An Khe came Tet Offensive, My Lai, Christmas bombings of Hanoi-Haiphong and then Cambodia 1970. My opinion changed as we continued the draft, Nixon got desperate and a losing cause prevailed. I was a supporter of containment until it all unraveled into a political lie. I was young then, lost schoolmate Charles Aaron, U.S. Army, at Hamburger Hill. I want to believe today our leaders are more sincere and capable of defeating Islamic militants.
