SEOUL — South Korea’s Air Force is seeking professional online gamers to help develop war-simulation programs.
A South Korean Ministry of National Defense spokesman confirmed local news reports that five pro-gamers will work in the air force headquarters after attending a four-week military training course.
Those selected will help develop simulation programs, according to the reports. They can continue competing as professional gamers, according to the reports, but will not be allowed to accept prize money.
There are about 300 professional online gamers in South Korea, according to the reports.
