SUWON, South Korea — A South Korean air force plane crashed Friday at Suwon Air Base during a Children’s Day celebration in front of 3,000 people, according to Yonhap News Agency.

The plane was part of the South Korean air force’s “Black Eagle” aerobatic flight team, Yonhap reported. It crashed onto the runway of the air base around noon during a stunt show that had begun at 11 a.m.

The unidentified pilot was killed but no casualties were reported among the spectators, Yonhap reported. Most of the witnesses were children.

The South Korean air force immediately called off the event after the accident, Yonhap reported.
