SEOUL — Several DODEA schools were closed Monday following a Sunday snow shower that blanketed parts of South Korea with more than two inches of snow.

Closed were: Casey Elementary School, Seoul American Elementary School, Seoul American Middle School, Seoul American High School, Humphreys Elementary School, and Humphreys Middle School, according to the Korea District Superintendent’s office.

U.S. Army Garrison-Humphreys spokeswoman Lori Yerdon said school buses from Humphreys to Osan High School were not running Monday.

“Unless their parents are taking them in, they have the day off,” she said.

Humphreys received 2 ¼ inches of snow and Yongsan received three inches, according to the garrisons’ public affairs offices. Road conditions at both garrisons were red as of late Monday morning, but no other office or business closures were reported.

Yerdon said shuttle buses from Humphreys to Yongsan were still running. Post shuttle buses were still operating though delays were possible, she said.
