MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan — From snowshoeing races to an evening with the comedian Sinbad, base residents can partake in a series of special events planned for the 35th Services Squadron’s annual Customer Appreciation Week.

The events start Sunday with WinterFest at the Gosser Memorial Golf Course from noon until 4 p.m. The day includes sledding, snowshoeing, a snowman building contest and free food.

On Monday, a free breakfast and pre-game events for the Super Bowl begin at 6 a.m. in the collocated club. Surprise giveaways are planned throughout the game.

Eight- and four-person teams have until Feb. 7 to sign up for the Mokuteki Community Center’s third annual Scavenger Hunt. Teams try to earn the most points by finding obscure and bizarre items on base and within Misawa city limits. The 24-hour hunt starts at 6 p.m. on Feb. 8. Prizes range from $300 to $2,000, depending on team size.

The Weasel’s Den hosts a FunFest on Feb. 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Sinbad is scheduled to perform Feb. 8 in the collocated club’s Tohoku ballroom. Doors open at 7 p.m. Free tickets will be available at the club’s cashier’s cage starting Friday. Due to adult content, the show is open only to those 18 or older.
