YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — The shuttle bus service between Yokota Air Base and the New Sanno Hotel in Tokyo has been suspended since Friday.

As of Tuesday, base and Yokota Services officials who operate the bus weren’t saying why.

A message displayed on the Yokota Commander’s Channel stated the service has been “cancelled” until June 12 or “until otherwise noted.”

It also stated that the Number 3 bus returning from Narita International Airport to Yokota, which normally makes a stop at the New Sanno, would skip the downtown Tokyo destination during the suspension.

Abigail Smith, spokeswoman for Yokota Services, declined to comment on the situation Tuesday and referred questions to the base public affairs office.

Yokota spokesman Capt. Warren Comer said he had no information about the suspension.

Personnel contacted at the New Sanno and Kanto Lodge front desks also said they had no additional information about the bus service or when it would resume.
