RAF MILDENHALL, England — A technical sergeant stationed at this air base will face a court-martial today for writing on the breast of a subordinate female airman who was unconscious at the time.

Tech. Sgt. Henry R. Steward II, of Mildenhall’s 100th Security Forces Squadron, allegedly wrote on the passed-out airman’s right breast “to gratify his sexual desires” with a permanent marker, according to a charge sheet provided by Mildenhall’s legal staff. He also wrote on her arms.

What Steward is accused of writing was not clear last week, since the words were redacted on the charge sheet.

Steward is being charged with Uniform Code of Military Justice violations that include cruelty and maltreatment, assault and adultery.

The incident took place on or about June 29 in the village of Mildenhall, according to the charge sheet.
